A History of Living

Goat is the first domesticated animal in human history, and they have a long relationship with each other for many years. Goat domestication between the early 10,000 and 11,000 (BP) in the Middle East and Western Asia, farmers' kept goats for domestic uses in their houses. They used goats for different purposes, milk and meat for food, manure for fuel, and skin and hair used in making clothes and shoes.

The seventh century that was the beginning era of Islam in Saudia- Arabia Bedouins (nomads) herded camels, sheep, and goats. There are many Hadiths related to goats; Sayyiduna Ali (Radiyallahu' Anhu) narrates that Our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said, "A goat in a home is a source of one blessing, two goats are two blessings, three are three blessings," and Uqbah Ibn Amir (Radiyallahu' Anhu) narrated I heard the messenger of Allah said, "Allah is pleased with a shepherd of goats, who calls to prayer at the peak of a mountain and offers prayer.

Humans being rearing goats for many centuries because goats have many specific characteristics; they are social and loving, they have the potential to give birth to one of two offspring in a year. In history, goats also used to pull carts and in biological researches. At last, we can say the goat is useful whether it is living or dead.
